Matthew Freeman, MD serves as Physician Owner at NW Indiana ER & Hospital. Dr. Freeman has been practicing medicine for over 10 years, serving as a physician in 8 different states since graduation from residency. Prior to joining NW Indiana ER & Hospital, he spent several years working at Steamboat Emergency Center in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

Dr. Freeman received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Loyola University Chicago. He went on to earn his medical degree from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. Dr. Freeman completed his residency at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago.

Dr. Freeman’s colleagues know him as a motivated, compassionate, and family-oriented individual who strives to provide a very high level of care to his patients. He enjoys traveling and experiencing different cultures, which has inspired his path and given him a unique perspective on Emergency Medicine.

“What a great staff! I called ahead of time to see if there was a wait, because we know how it can be on the weekends, and I was informed that there was not. I drove from the IL side and it was worth it. Trust the reviews! Staff was kind and bright eyed & bushy-tailed at almost 3am. Got me in and out without a hiccup and made sure I was extra comfy. “This place is professional, and the staff are very courteous. I am new to the Northwest Indiana area and I’ve visited this place twice. Each experience has been superb. The providers go above and beyond to develop a solution and it is done within a timely manner. There is no sitting in the lobby for three hours, just to go to the triage area for an additional two hours. On each occasion I was completely nervous. However, the staff was able to provide comfort and reassurance. Anytime there is an emergency I will always go here. Keep up the great work!!!”
