Mary Ann Green, BSN, RN is the Director of Nursing at NW Indiana ER & Hospital, where she is responsible for implementing, directing, communicating, and instructing the nursing process to provide a safe environment for all patients, visitors, and associates. Prior to joining NW Indiana ER & Hospital, Mary Ann served as an Emergency Room Nurse for over 10 years, working in urgent and high patient volume settings.
Mary Ann received her Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing from Prairie State College in northeastern Illinois, and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Purdue University, Northwest in Hammond, Indiana. She is highly certified in several areas including Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Trauma and Pediatric Advanced Life Support, where she also served as an instructor. In addition, she is a SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner). She has served as a member and department representative on several committees including Standards and Practice, Stroke and Chest Pain Accreditation committees. Mary Ann is also a member of the IAFN (International Association of Forensic Nurses) and SART (Sexual Assault Response Team) of Lake County, IN.
Mary Ann is known by her colleagues as a passionate and highly skilled healthcare provider. Her dedication to her work and delivering the best possible care to patients is evident in her use of patient centered care principles and professional nursing standards. She thrives in a leadership position where she can support the organization in achieving its goals. In her spare time, Mary Ann enjoys spending time with her husband, 2 daughters, sons-in-law, 2 grandchildren, and pets (2 dogs, 1 cat).
