Sambhav Shah
Emergency Physician

Dr. Sambhav Shah has over 20 years of community emergency medicine experience as an attending. He also works per diem for the Rush Medical Group, which includes Oak Park and downtown. Additionally, he has worked part time at the University of Chicago Crown Point ED and micro hospital since November 2024. He is Board certified and recertified twice, most recently 2023. Dr. Shah completed his undergrad in 1995 and medical school in 1999 at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He also completed EM residency SUNY at Buffalo in 2002.
He has worked 8+ years as an attending in Cleveland area (2002 to 2011) until meeting his wife and moving to the Chicago area which has been home since 2011.
He has experience as CPR/ACLS/PALS instructor, served as Quality Director on ED Leadership Committee at Community Hospital in Munster, IN for 4 years before coming to NW Indiana ER and Hospital in February 2022. Dr. Shah has been featured in Chicago Tribune about the challenges dual physician spouses faced during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Shah was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and has a lot of pride for the area especially the sports teams. He enjoys spending time with family (wife and two daughters), school activities, various social events with friends (some charitable) , going to restaurants and traveling (hiking, sightseeing, skiing, R&R).
He tries to stay physically fit via Peloton or high-intensity interval training, has run 4 Chicago marathons from 2016-2019 and is looking to get back into running races again, enjoys racquet sports like tennis, pickleball, paddleball.
