May 22, 2023 (Hammond, IN) – Over the weekend, The Times Best of The Region Awards announced NW Indiana ER & Hospital placed second for ‘Best Hospital’ in honor of their success and dedication to the Hammond community and surrounding area. NW Indiana ER & Hospital secured the ‘Best of the Region’ award, voted by the community for the third year.

“It is an honor to be recognized for the award that highlights the outstanding care provided by each staff member at NW Indiana ER & Hospital,” said Amanda Jensen, MSN, RN, NW Indiana ER & Hospital’s chief nursing officer. “There is no other hospital in Northwest Indiana that gives individualized care as we do, which is reflected in how happy our patients leave the facility as well as how they choose our facility over a larger one.”

This is the third year in a row that NW Indiana ER & Hospital has been recognized and won the award for ‘Best Hospital’ by the Times Best of the Region. The annual Best of Award recognizes and honors the local backbone businesses for their exceptional dedication, service, and impact in the community. The fellow community members vote for the best businesses that span the south suburban Chicago to Northwest Indiana region.

The facility takes pride in being the community’s go-to ER and hospital, providing excellent and state-of-the-art care for all patients. The hospital’s unique value in unwavering commitment to a patients-first, healthy community marks the ER as a standout of excellence.

“We appreciate the distinguished honor and look forward to continuing to provide the best care possible to each person that steps foot in our hospital,” said Jensen.

NW Indiana ER & Hospital will be honored at the 2023 celebration on Thursday, June 1, alongside other local business winners and community members.
